Privacy Policy of the Temperatura Monitor app
Version 2 · effective from the release of version 1.1.0 of the App (30 September 2026). It replaces version 1 of 26 September 2026, which still applies to version 1.0.
Temperatura Monitor does not collect personal data. There is no sign-up, no account, no advertising, no in-house analytics and no tracking. Your Mac's temperatures stay on your devices and, if you use the iCloud features, in your own iCloud space: they are never sent to psAico or to anyone else.

What the App does on your devices
On the Mac, the App reads the temperature sensors and the macOS thermal state and shows them on the Mac. If sharing is on, it sends them directly to your iPhone and iPad on the same local network, together with the Mac's name and model. The name, for example "Mario's MacBook Air", may contain your name.
The data travels only over the local network or, if you enable the feature described below, through your iCloud: never through servers of ours. The App's preferences (unit, refresh interval, last Mac used, iCloud and alert options) stay on the device. The history of the last 10 minutes stays in memory and is discarded when you quit the App.
Sharing on the local network
Sharing is on by default. While it is on, anyone on the same network who uses the App can see the Mac's name and temperatures. On public or shared networks you can turn it off on the Mac, in Temperatura › Settings.
On iPhone and iPad, the "Local Network" permission is managed in Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network.
iCloud: your Mac away from home
From version 1.1.0, the Mac option "Show the Mac away from home too, with iCloud" is on by default. While it is on and the App is open, about once a minute the Mac saves in your own iCloud space (the private CloudKit database of your Apple Account): the Mac's name, model and chip, the thermal state, the sensor temperatures and the history of the last 10 minutes. Your iPhone and iPad signed in with the same Apple Account read them when they are not on the Mac's network.
This data lives in your iCloud account, protected by your Apple credentials, and only you can see it: psAico cannot read it, does not receive it and does not keep it. It takes a negligible amount of your iCloud space (under 100 KB per Mac) and is overwritten at every update, not accumulated. iCloud is provided by Apple (for the European Union, Apple Distribution International Ltd.) as an independent controller, under the iCloud terms and Apple's privacy policy (www.apple.com/legal/privacy); Apple may store the data outside the European Union with the safeguards provided by the GDPR.
To stop, turn the option off on the Mac in Temperatura › Settings: the Mac immediately deletes what it had saved. If you have several Macs, each has its own option. You can also delete the App's data from your account's iCloud settings (on a Mac: System Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage storage). If the Mac is not signed in to iCloud, the feature stays inactive and the App works only on the local network, as in version 1.0.
Alerts when the Mac runs hot
On iPhone and iPad you can turn on "Alert me if the Mac runs hot" in the Options menu. The option is off by default and asks for notification permission. While it is on, when the Mac's thermal state rises to "elevated", "serious" or "critical", the Mac writes an alert in your iCloud space and Apple's push notification service delivers it to your devices signed in with the same account. The alert contains only the Mac's name and the thermal state.
Here too psAico sees nothing: the notification originates in your iCloud and goes through Apple's servers, not ours. We run no server and we do not know your devices' identifiers. To stop the alerts, turn the option off or withdraw the notification permission in Settings. Alerts work only if the iCloud option described above is on on the Mac.
What we receive
- From Apple, aggregate data only. We receive the number of downloads. From users who chose, in their device settings, to share analytics with developers, we also receive aggregate usage statistics and anonymous crash reports. We use them only to understand how many people use the App and to fix errors (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- If you write to us at info@psaico.it. We use your address and your message only to reply (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and keep them for no longer than 24 months after the request is closed. Email is handled by our email provider, appointed as data processor.
- If you take part in tests through TestFlight. Apple shows us the email address you were invited with, your device model and the feedback you choose to send us. We use them only for the test (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and remove you from the testers when the test ends.
Downloads, updates, TestFlight, iCloud and push notifications are handled by Apple (for the European Union, Apple Distribution International Ltd.) as an independent controller, under its privacy policy (www.apple.com/legal/privacy). The data we receive through Apple stays on Apple's systems, and Apple may process it outside the European Union with the safeguards provided by the GDPR (EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses).
We do not sell or transfer data to anyone. We do no profiling and take no automated decisions. You do not have to provide any data to use the App.
Your rights
You can exercise the rights under Articles 15–22 GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability) by writing to info@psaico.it or to the certified email address psaico@namirialpec.it. You can also lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it) or with the supervisory authority of your country. Data that stays on your devices is deleted by uninstalling the App; data in your iCloud as described above.
Changes
This version adds the sections on iCloud and alerts, introduced with version 1.1.0. Should the App start processing new data, we will update this policy before the feature is released. The version in force is always published at this address. In case of doubt, the Italian version prevails.
